Board Certification

Dr. Kuncio is among the few Orthodontists who are Board Certified

What is the American Board of Orthodontics?

The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) is the only orthodontic certification process recognized by the American Dental Association. Founded in 1929, the ABO has held all those in the field to the highest standards for close to 100 years.

What is Board Certification?

The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) certifies the leading orthodontists in the field. Only one in three orthodontists in America accomplish this unique achievement.  Certification requires additional education, demonstration of superior results in patient care (proven by actual case records and reports), and advanced skills in elegantly solving a wide range of patient problems. The process culminates with a panel interview with the Board of Examiners during which the doctor must demonstrate thorough orthodontic knowledge, clinical practices skills, and strong, decisive judgment. All ABO Diplomats must re-certify every 10 years. Read more about Board Certification here.

Why should I go to a Board Certified orthodontist?

We all want the best possible care for ourselves and our children. Seeking treatment from an ABO Board Certified Orthodontist is the best way to ensure that you are receiving the highest standard of care for orthodontic patients. Board Certification means that your orthodontist has a strong commitment to providing the best possible patient care, along with the skills, knowledge, and good judgment needed to achieve the best result possible. Board Certification also requires continuing education and shows that your orthodontist has made the commitment to a career of learning, allowing them to offer the most advanced treatment options available.
